What in our mind actually gives us nightmares? Last night I had a dream, you could call it a nightmare. Okay, so here it is: I was in some creepy random house with really random people. Now I'm not even sure how to explain it because it is so strange. Anyway, in this house there were so many things in this house and everything had a certain order. During the day the house was okay and you could touch stuff and pick it up, but when it turned into night, the house COMPLETELY changed. The house became haunted and there were people who use to live in the house that would chase you if you touched anything or tried to leave. So in the dream some kid in the group I was with found some gold dish and took it. We all yelled at him to stop, but he didn't care, then the haunting people came. For some odd reason we all decided to hide in this random room with like a king size bed and didn't move. Then the morning came and the haunting people were gone and the kid who took the gold dish was gone.
Now why my random group and I didn't leave when we had the chance I'll never figure out haha. So we find another room with a mirror and then it became night again. While we were looking in the mirror the haunting people appeared in it and started chasing us and trying to get us to go in the mirror. Basically this dream went on FOREVER. I woke up for a little and went back in the dream for a little.
Okay I swear I do not do drugs, I am not crazy, now what would give me dreams like this!? The other night I had a dream a serial killer was killing all of my friends and then me, and my parents left me alone. Like WHAT IS GIVING ME these nightmares? I didn't eat a banana for bed, had no caffiene except for the morning. It is so strange.
Then a few weeks ago I had a dream evil ghosts were trying to posess me and I woke myself up screaming "you won't get me!!!!" Now I sound crazy haha, I swear I am not <3
What causes nightmares??? WELL I AM GOING TO LOOK IT UP!
From one webiste: http://www.here-be-dreams.com/nightmares.html
They say:
"Why do people have nightmares? Reasons vary. There's no single cause of nightmares and hence no single way of stopping them. Sometimes physical factors can be involved, such as illness and/or medication. Sometimes a nightmare reflects some unusual stress or trauma in the waking world. Sometimes it is just a result of small, niggling worries that have been ignored for too long.
Nightmares rarely cause any direct physical harm beyond interrupted sleep. However they can still have an indirect impact. Even if you put the nightmare aside as "just a bad dream", you can find yourself going through the next day feeling unusually irritable, moody or depressed. An unresolved nightmare can lead to a bad day.
One suggestion is to try to "neutralise" the nightmare before going back to sleep. Lie back and visualise a positive, peaceful and happy alternative to the nightmare. If you were being chased, perhaps you turn and face the pursuer, only to discover it's a cuddly teddy bear just having fun. If you were falling, perhaps you float gently down onto a thick feather mattress covered with silk sheets. Even if you can't think of a specific alternative to the dream, be sure to conjure up pleasant scenes and emotions"
Interesting....
In most of my nightmares I am always getting chased by someone.
Maybe if I have another chasing dream I'll remember to turn around and face the chaser. We shall see!
Still can't understand why I haven't been having happy dreams.
Oh well, I guess we'll have to wait for tonight to see what happens :-p.
Till next time <3
